I'm glad that they are such a tight group. It was our youth group at my church many years ago, that drew me to church. I still keep in contact with some of my youth group pals.

When we picked the kids up from Lutherdale on Friday it was obvious that they have formed relationships with each other, which is awesome. Tom is sporting a "GAP" (God Answers Prayer) baseball cap, and Allison is teaching her camp songs to the other kids in the neighborhood. It's awesome. Pastor John will have some wonderful stories to tell us, I'm absolutely sure :)

Thank you for the pictures and commentary about the days at camp. I feel a bit transported into where you are right now....it all sounds wonderful. I can't wait to hear from the kids what they took away from the week.

I am reading a book recommended by Pastor Jennie called "Beyond the Front Door" which asks the question, "Are you a front door church or a side door church?" I'm starting to think we're more of a side door church because of all the use our building gets throughout the week. We have so many ways to reach people beyond just Sunday morning.

One of the things that drives that congregation is that Pastor Jennie is out and about. She lives and works in her community. When she sees a need she responds to it, and as I understood she is at the grocery store, the library, the schools, etc. Wasn;t she approached by the need for english as a second language from some muslim women when she was at the library?

We hit a chord when we did the marriage enrichment. I agree substance abuse is rampant- and we do have AA already using our facility....The family needs support. I think people go to church to grow in their faith, to be a part of a community, and to feel like they can make a difference in the world. I also think that the Sunday worship is our biggest product but shouldn't be our only product. A person who is touched by the service and the people will come again but unless they get involved someway they might not become a member.

I like the thoroughness of your summary John.
When agreeing on how to put it together: perhaps having a vote on the options presented, if more than one. My thought is that having a similar philosophy should begin with all involved agreeing on how this project fits our Mission statement. Then perhaps agreeing on the goals.
One way for the responsible individual to get info to the web designer on time, is to partner with another person whose role is only to hold the other accountable for their duties. In a friendly way, of course, set some kind of deadline between the two for submitting material or updates to the designer. As the deadline approaches, the one reminds, calls or encourages the other to get it completed. Just some of my thoughts.

I love the connection between the Word and communication. Even "alpha and omega" is really a reference to language. Maybe you could find a great Bible quote to put in the upper left corner of the page. Or make a pun from "the last word" as in a discussion, and "the Word". I'm not good at puns, but Nancy might be able to help!
